Hi, I'm Justin.

Building Reliable
IT Infrastructure.

I'm an IT Technician in a Managed Service Provider environment, keeping Microsoft 365, Windows, and endpoint security running for business clients day to day.

Off the clock I run a Proxmox lab — Linux, Docker, networking, PowerShell. I break things there so I don't have to learn on a client's network.

About Me

I'm an IT Technician at a Managed Service Provider, where I troubleshoot Windows systems, administer Microsoft 365, manage identities, and support endpoint security and networking for business clients. Every day is a different problem, which is the part I like most.

Outside of work I build and improve my home lab. It's where I test virtualization, Linux, Docker, and networking before it matters in a real environment. Building it myself is how I actually learn.

I care about well-documented infrastructure and automating what I can. I'm working toward a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer role focused on Microsoft 365, virtualization, and networking.

IT Technician

Managed Service Provider (MSP)

Day-to-day support for business clients — Microsoft 365, networking, endpoint security, and whatever lands in the ticket queue. Half the job is fixing things. The other half is documenting them well enough that the next person isn't starting from scratch.

  • Administer Microsoft 365 — Exchange Online, Entra ID, and on-prem Active Directory, including the full onboarding/offboarding lifecycle and MFA.
  • Migrated a SonicWall firewall LAN zone across interfaces with zero downtime by pre-staging config and verifying cabling before cutover.
  • Automated network printer diagnostics with cross-platform PowerShell and CUPS scripts, cutting manual troubleshooting on Windows and macOS fleets.
  • Triage EDR-flagged files in Huntress and SentinelOne, separating legitimate driver artifacts from genuine threats.
  • Built and maintain a PowerShell toolkit (18 scripts) for network discovery, system health checks, and security auditing.
  • Provide remote support via NinjaOne, with documentation to keep the next ticket faster than the last.

Personal Infrastructure Project

Everything I can't justify testing on a client's network gets tested here first. Proxmox host, VLAN-segmented network behind an OPNsense firewall, self-hosted services in Docker, and a growing PowerShell toolkit — all built, broken, and rebuilt on purpose.

  • Deploy and maintain a Proxmox environment running VMs, LXC containers, and Docker.
  • Segmented the network into VLANs behind an OPNsense firewall, with zero downtime to existing Wi-Fi and media services.
  • Self-host services — reverse proxy, dashboards, media server — documented and version-controlled on GitHub.
  • Practice troubleshooting by intentionally testing and recovering from failures — most recently a DHCP reservation bug traced through live Kea logs.

Featured Projects

Real infrastructure I've built and run — a segmented home network, self-hosted services, a PowerShell toolkit — not tutorials I followed once.

Infrastructure

Proxmox Home Lab

The host everything else runs on. Proxmox VE, running the VMs and containers behind every other project here — snapshotted and backed up so I can break things safely.

Automation

Infrastructure as Code & Observability

Rebuilt my Docker host from scratch — provisioned by Terraform, configured by Ansible, monitored by Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. No more clicking through a UI and hoping I remember what I did.

Microsoft 365 Administration

My day job. Microsoft 365 administration across a rotating set of client tenants — identities, licensing, Exchange Online, and security.

Networking

Networking Lab — Phase 1: Segmentation

Segmented a flat home network behind an OPNsense firewall — three VLANs, 802.1Q trunking over a single NIC, per-VLAN DHCP and DNS. Nobody else in the house noticed it happen.

  • OPNsense Firewall (Proxmox VM)
  • VLAN Segmentation (802.1Q)
  • Kea DHCP & Unbound DNS

PowerShell Automation

18 PowerShell scripts for network discovery, system health checks, and security auditing. If I do something by hand twice, it becomes a script.
